Privacy Policy

Effective date: 20 July 2026 ยท Last updated: 20 July 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the ResumeForge mobile application ("the App") and the website at resumeforge-site-2026.web.app handle information. The App is published by Vikas Pal, an independent developer ("we", "us"), who is the data controller for the purposes of this policy.

Contact for any privacy question or request: pal.vikas9k@gmail.com. We respond to requests within 30 days.

1. Summary

ResumeForge does not require an account, and it does not upload your resume to us. Everything you type stays in the App's private storage on your own device. The only data that leaves your device is the information Google AdMob needs in order to display advertising, described in section 4.

2. Information you provide

You enter resume content into the App โ€” for example your name, email address, phone number, postal location, work history, education, skills, and any other text you choose to add.

This content is stored only on your device, in the App's private application storage. It is not transmitted to us, it is not stored on any server we control, we cannot access or read it, and it is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties. We do not use it to train machine-learning models.

When you export a resume, the resulting PDF is written to storage you choose or passed to another app you select through your device's standard share sheet. What happens to the file after that is governed by the app or service you send it to.

3. Information we do not collect

To be explicit, the App does not collect, and we do not receive:

  • Account credentials โ€” the App has no sign-in and no user accounts.
  • Your resume content, in whole or in part.
  • Contacts, photos, calendar entries, SMS, or call logs.
  • Precise device location (GPS).
  • Health, financial, or biometric information.

4. Advertising

The App displays advertising supplied by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. To serve, cap, and measure ads, AdMob processes:

  • your device's resettable advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID, or Apple's Identifier for Advertisers where you permit tracking);
  • coarse technical information such as device model, operating system version, language, and approximate region derived from IP address;
  • ad interaction events such as impressions and clicks.

Google acts as an independent controller for this processing. Its practices are described in the Google Privacy & Terms for partner sites and the AdMob data disclosure.

Consent. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the App presents a consent message through Google's User Messaging Platform before any personalised advertising is served. You may accept, refuse, or change your choice later from the App's settings. Refusing consent does not restrict any App feature; you will simply see non-personalised ads.

Our authorised digital sellers are declared at app-ads.txt.

5. Legal bases for processing (EEA / UK)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) โ€” for personalised advertising and the use of advertising identifiers.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) โ€” for serving non-personalised advertising in order to fund a free app, and for basic fraud and invalid-traffic prevention.

Because resume content never leaves your device, we do not process it and no legal basis is required for it.

6. Data retention and deletion

Resume content remains on your device until you delete it. You can remove it at any time by:

  • deleting an individual resume from within the App; or
  • clearing the App's storage in your device settings; or
  • uninstalling the App, which removes all of its local data.

Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side and no account for you to close. Advertising data held by Google is retained under Google's own retention schedules; you can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time in your device settings.

If you nevertheless wish to make a deletion request or confirm that we hold nothing about you, email pal.vikas9k@gmail.com.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of California have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know and the right to opt out of "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising; you exercise that opt-out by refusing personalised ads in the App or resetting your advertising identifier. Residents of India have corresponding rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not knowingly share it for monetary consideration.

To exercise any right, contact pal.vikas9k@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Children

ResumeForge is intended for people seeking employment and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where that is the applicable threshold). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us and we will act promptly. The App is not enrolled in Google Play's Designed for Families programme.

9. Security

Resume content is held in the App's private storage area, which the operating system isolates from other applications. This website is served over HTTPS. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, but keeping your data on your own device materially reduces the risk of a breach exposing it. Protecting your device with a screen lock and keeping your operating system updated is the most effective safeguard.

10. International transfers

We do not transfer your resume data anywhere, because we never receive it. Advertising data processed by Google may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries, under the safeguards described in Google's privacy documentation.

11. Third-party services

The App integrates the following third-party service, and no others:

  • Google AdMob โ€” advertising. Privacy Policy.

App distribution is handled by Google Play and the Apple App Store, which collect their own data under their respective privacy policies when you download or purchase.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top will change, and material changes will be signalled within the App before they take effect. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
